Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas!

I love the sound of those words. I am making a special effort this year to be sure that I say them to everyone who will listen. I have spoken them to check-out clerks in the stores... to the famous greeters at 'Wally World' and especially to the precious Salvation Army Bell Ringers! Love those Bell Ringers!!

The reaction has been mixed. Some have looked at me with surprise, and then a smile would break through. Others have looked a bit fearful as though they were being tested to see how they would respond. I am sorry for those who are not free to express their faith at work during this most special time of year.

The best reaction I have had so far was today at Sam's Club. As we were leaving, I handed my receipt to the 'receipt lady' and she quickly checked through the items in our cart. With my best smile I joyfully gave her a joy-filled "Merry Christmas"... She responded with a quick laugh, a huge smile and a delightful "Merry Christmas to you too!" She made my day!

Lest you think that I am on some kind of political campaign here, let me explain myself. The joy of my Lord and Saviour is absolutely what keeps me going some days...the joy in His presence which includes the joy of His coming, His sacrifice, His glorious resurrection, and His soon coming again! His joy is my strength.

When I say Merry Christmas to someone, I am giving them a piece of my joy... a reminder that Christmas is more than a season. It is the time of year to celebrate a person, a divine person who will one day rule and reign over this earth. I am inviting them to give me the opportunity to tell them more! I long to be able to share my love for the Christ Child this Christmas.

Joy to the world! the Lord has come.
Let earth receive her King.
Let every heart prepare Him room,
and heaven and angels sing,
and heaven and angels sing,
and heaven and heaven, and angels sing!

Be blessed,

P.S.

this is beautiful. I'm Jewish, didn't grow up with Christmas but it's so much a part of who I am to say Merry Christmas because it's filled with His joy. Tons of blessings. Sarah

I DO love the new touches of CHRISTMAS on your blog!

Also I love you!

ALSO, I think with the "starch" being put in so many ---I think that it gives those of us with the "true freedom" just that much MORE reason to TELL it--SHARE HIM--and be all the more JOYOUS about it! Whatchu think?
